‘Let’s Go’ – David De Gea Makes Manchester United Return Following Summer Departure

On Tuesday night, David de Gea unleashed on Manchester United Women in his first appearance since controversially quitting the club during the summer transfer season.

Everything appeared to be in place for the Spaniard to prolong his 12-year stint at Old Trafford following a remarkable 22-23 season that saw De Gea keep 17 clean sheets and earn the Premier League’s Golden Glove award. Despite agreeing to a considerable wage cut to continue at United, a stunning U-turn by club executives – and potentially Erik Ten Hag – resulted in the goalie leaving on a free transfer in July Reported by DailyMail.

Many felt the shot-stopper was treated unfairly because he never got to say farewell to his fans. However, when De Gea’s departure was known, United manager Ten Hag dismissed allegations of a fallout, emphasizing his value to the team last season.

“Last season, he contributed so greatly to our top-four position, winning the Carabao Cup trophy, and reaching the FA Cup final,” the Dutchman stated at the time. So we are quite grateful for what he accomplished for us and hold him in great regard.

“545 games is a lot… He has so many clean sheets due of his ability, and he has done so much for Manchester United that we all admire him. As a team, especially at the top, you sometimes move, it’s fluid, it’s dynamic, and you move in another direction.

“It happens. And when you are (here for) 12 years at Man United, there then comes a period when players will come and go.”

Now, De Gea has been snapped at United as he watched the Women’s team’s first-ever Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain.
