Lampard offered ambassador role by Chelsea following his retirement

Chelsea have offered their all-time top goalscorer Frank Lampard an ambassadorial role at the club following his retirement.

Lampard brought his 21-year playing career to an end last week and has immediately started work on his coaching badges, returning to Chelsea to work with their academy.

The Blues would like to keep their 211-goal legend close to the club following his retirement and, according to The Times, have offered Lampard the chance to become a club ambassador which he is now considering.

Lampard, who made 106 appearances for the senior England team, is also wanted by the Football Association though.

They are keen to bring in former internationals and work alongside them in order to help the former players pass their coaching badges.

Lampard could have the chance to work with England’s junior teams while also sitting in on Antonio Conte’s training sessions at Cobham.

Chelsea’s offer of a senior ambassadorial role would include Lampard taking part in commercial, sponsorship and global branding events, but would also free him up to complete his coaching badges.
