Klopp Mention West Ham Star As His ‘Favourite’ Outside Of Liverpool

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp lavished praise on West Ham United forward, Jarrod Bowen and named him his favourite player following his display in the Hammers’ 5-1 loss to the Reds in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

The England international was subjected to yet another close-up by the Reds gaffer during the game last night. For the second time this season, Bowen found the net at Anfield.

But his goal was only consolation as Liverpool defeated them 5-1 with goals from Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones (2), Cody Gakpo, and Mohamed Salah.

According to the Liverpool Echo, prior to the match, Klopp lauds the Hammers striker, who was rumored to be on his way to joining the Reds in the summer while Salah was being courted by the Saudi Pro League.

What Did Klopp Say About Bowen?

“In quarter-finals, everybody can smell the chance to go through. In a very busy period, finding a line-up which can go and go and go because West Ham is a physically really strong team. David (Moyes) is doing an incredible job, I have to say,” the Liverpool manager told Sky Sports.

“They are good again, through in Europe, it’s really impressive. Injuries issues as well. Playing without (Michail) Antonio, and Bowen steps up in that position.

“[He is] probably my favourite player besides all my players, I have to say. It’s great what he is doing and how he has developed.”
