The club has already begun searching for a replacement, with high-profile names like Jürgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino linked to the role.
However, a familiar figure has now entered the conversation, as José Mourinho has reportedly offered himself for a return to the Santiago Bernabéu.
The Portuguese coach, currently in charge of SL Benfica, is said to believe he has “unfinished business” at Real Madrid and is open to taking over if approached.
Mourinho Open to Madrid Comeback
Mourinho previously managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013, winning a La Liga title, a Copa del Rey, and a Spanish Super Cup during his time at the club.
He remains a respected figure at the Bernabéu and maintains a strong relationship with club president Florentino Pérez, which could play a role if Madrid consider a reunion.
Mourinho had previously been linked with a return earlier this year following the departure of Xabi Alonso, but distanced himself from those rumours at the time, reports Madrid Universal.
Now, his stance appears to have shifted, although Real Madrid are still exploring multiple options, including interest in Julian Nagelsmann as they plan for next season.
