Jorginho Praises Graham Potter, Believes He’s “On The Right Track”

Graham Potter, according to Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, is on the right path to success at the club. In September, the 47-year-old took over as manager at Stamford Bridge after Thomas Tuchel was dismissed.

Potter’s stint at Chelsea started in impressive fashion as they went nine games unbeaten in all competitions.

However, their form dipped before the break for the World Cup, with the Blues winning just once in their previous five matches.

They currently sit eighth in the table, so will need to vastly improve if they are to have any chance of finishing in the top four.

What Did Jorginho Say About Graham Potter?

Despite such struggles, Jorginho has revealed his faith in Potter, telling Sky Sports: “He’s very nice, even if from the outside it may seem like he isn’t.

“He’s a good person, a hard worker and for me he’s very prepared, he has his own ideas, very clear. And he’s creating this good relationship with the players based on trust and communication.

“I think he’s on the right track to do well.”

Whilst Potter is set to stay at the club in the long run, Jorginho’s future in west London has remained uncertain for some time.

The 31-year-old midfielder has been the subject of speculation over a possible departure in recent windows.

However, Chelsea’s hopes of keeping the Italian international have since received a boost despite links with a move to Barcelona.

His agent Joao Santos said: “I’ve never met Barcelona director Mateu Alemany.

“We want to extend the contract with Chelsea, it is our priority. We are only dealing with the Blues and no other club.”

Chelsea return to action the day after Boxing Day with a Premier League home fixture against Bournemouth.
