Jamie Carragher Suggests Liverpool Advantage Over Arsenal And Man City To Win Premier League Title

Jamie Carragher thinks Liverpool could win the Premier League if Arsenal and Manchester City play in the Champions League semifinal.

Following a 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Sunday, the Reds dropped to second place in the title chase this past weekend.

Liverpool official website notes the three teams are now separated by just one point with seven games left after Arsenal and City both triumphed the day before.

On goal differential, Pep Guardiola’s team is one point behind Liverpool, while Mikel Arteta’s team leads the race. The former’s troubling form suggests that the Reds will probably need a few mistakes from the Gunners in order to win the championship.

The European exploits of Arsenal and City might be advantageous to them. This week, both teams play in the Champions League quarterfinals against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

If both teams advance, they will play one another in the semifinals. Carragher thinks that might give Liverpool the upper hand.

Regarding Liverpool’s draw with United, Carragher said on The Gary Neville Podcast, “It’s interesting how important that point will be.” “I believe Arsenal or Manchester City will win if they perform as well as Liverpool did in this match. Additionally, every team is unique.

“Manchester City is the best team. We all know that Liverpool has more goals and players they can use off the bench to win a game, but Arsenal is still the best defensive team right now.

“However, Liverpool is known to be more chaotic. The other two are more in control, with Manchester City standing out. And that’s what has let Liverpool down; their increased chaos has given Manchester United a chance to retake the lead.

There’s still a long way to go. Arsenal will definitely lose points, but in a different manner, in my opinion. Arsenal might not score in some games but perhaps this is the case when they are playing away from home and chasing that one goal. On the other hand, Manchester City is Manchester City, and Liverpool will always score goals.
