Greenwood’s Team-Mate Collapses On Pitch As Marseille Release Update

Marseille star, Bilal Nadir passed out on Wednesday night during their Ligue 1 game against Angers.

In a comforting medical statement, the French team have confirmed that Nadir “did not lose consciousness at the time of the incident.”

They also state that “all of his vital signs were found to be normal,” after emergency services and medical personnel attended to him.

Upon going to the hospital for a “full medical check-up,” Nadir’s status was reported to be good. However, the player “remains under observation while this assessment continues.”

The full medical statement that Marseille released on Thursday, translated from French into English, reads: “Olympique de Marseille wishes to give reassuring news regarding Bilal Nadir, who suffered a health scare yesterday during the match against SCO Angers. The player did not lose consciousness during the incident.

“Upon being attended to by the club’s medical staff, and the emergency services present at the scene, all of his vital signs were found to be normal.

“As a precaution, Bilal Nadir was transferred to the hospital for a full medical check-up. His condition is good, and he remains under observation while this assessment continues.

“The club thanks the medical teams for their responsiveness, as well as the many fans for their messages of support. Further information will be provided as the situation develops.”

Since joining Marseille from Nice in 2021, Nadir has made significant contributions to the team in recent seasons.

He played for their fourth-tier B squad for two seasons before making his senior debut in September 2023.
