FPL GW5 Recap: Moving Up The Ladder Or Digging For Crude Oil? iSoccer Winners

With five gameweeks of the 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) done and dusted, here is a question we at the International Soccer will like to pose to you. Are you moving up the rankings or finding your way down below?

Well, we will give you some time to answer that. In the meantime, let’s get into what we witnessed regarding the just concluded gameweek.

The Merseyside derby kickstarted the GW as Liverpool hosted Everton at Anfield. Several managers hoped for points in this fixture due to the presence of the most owned midfielder, Mohamed Salah (Ā£14.5m) and gameweek four’s most transferred in asset, Jack Grealish (Ā£6.8m).

Salah was only able to provide an assist to claim five points while Grealish blanked for the second game running.

Following a two-game drought, Alex Iwobi (Ā£6.5m) recorded 13 points after scoring a goal and providing an assist in Fulham’s 3-1 win against London rivals, Brentford. His less than 2 percent owners will surely be delighted to see the Nigerian midfielder provide two attacking returns for the first time this season.

In what was just his second start of the campaign after moving from Everton on a free transfer, Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Ā£5.5m) plundered 11 points in Leeds United’s 3-1 victory away at Wolves.

The 28-year-old’s teammate, Anton Stach (Ā£5.0m) also recorded a double digit haul following a goal and an assist to claim 15 points which was enough to cement his place alongside Liverpool midfielder, Ryan Gravenberch (Ā£5.5m) as the players of the week.

Manchester United duo, Harry Maguire (Ā£4.4m) and Bruno Fernandes (Ā£9.0m) equally hauled in the Red Devils’ 2-1 victory over Chelsea which was just their second win of the term.

Maguire claimed 11 points following an assist and a cleansheet as he was subbed off before Chelsea pulled one back which was much to the delight of his owners.

Fernandes on the hand collected 10 points after a goal from the spot and the maximum bonus points.

Erling Haaland (Ā£14.3m) netted a goal in Manchester City’s 1-1 draw to Arsenal to continue his impressive start to the season.

The Norwegian has recorded returns in all but one of City’s matches to garner 46 points which is currently the highest so far this campaign.

With Burnley (H), Brentford (A), Everton (H), Aston Villa (A) and Bournemouth (H) next for City, it is looking inevitable to bring in Haaland considering his imperious form in front of goal.
