Hansi Flick has reportedly addressed Lamine Yamal’s irate outburst following his substitution during Barcelona’s 2-1 Champions League victory against Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday night.
In the 89th minute, the Barcelona wonderkid was substituted by Roony Bardghji, leaving the field with a clearly agitated expression.
He seemed to grumble under his breath in disappointment, and his countenance remained stern as he approached the bench.
Flick’s team were forced to fight for the three points on a tough night at Camp Nou. After just 21 minutes, Barcelona went behind as Ansgar Knauff broke the deadlock, punishing the home team for a poor first half performance.

The Catalans conceded the first goal for the fifth straight game, a trend that Flick admitted is still concerning.
However, Barcelona’s tenacity proved to be crucial once more. Changed tactics after the break ensured more pressure were applied which strained Frankfurt’s defence.
Jules Kounde, an unlikely source whose exploits in the last third were richly rewarded, scored two goals to cap off the response. The assists came from Marcus Rashford and Yamal.
Flick Claims Yamal’s Substitution Is A Precautionary One
According to Goal, Flick calmly addressed Yamal’s frustration at being withdrawn late in the game in his post-match remarks. He emphasized that the winger’s removal was for a precautionary measure rather than a tactical one.
“We changed Lamine with a few minutes to go because he was booked and it was late,” Flick said. “If he was a bit annoyed, then I fully understand and I like it. I was a player too. It’s fully acceptable, not a problem.”
