Ex-NFL Player Assaults United Airlines Employee In Apparent Self-Defense And Gets Arrested

An ex-NFL player assaulted an airline employee after a disagreement broke out at the airline’s luggage desk, according to video released today from Newark Airport.

According to the New York Post, the passenger was detained, despite the fact that in the video, the airline employee started the fight and attempted to attack Langley.

Brendan Langley, a former NFL player, was detained by the New York Police Department shortly after midnight and he was charged with simple assault.

The footage shows an airline employee shove a passenger, who TMZ has identified as ex-Denver Broncos cornerback Brendan Langley.

Langley, 27, then unleashes a barrage of punches that knocks the worker out.

The stunned, uniformed employee then raises his dukes and slaps the much-larger athlete across the face.

“You seen that s—?” Langley yells at a bystander before punching the worker in the face, knocking him to the ground and causing him to bleed profusely.

The bloodied United employee rises to his feet and confronts the football player once more.

“Would you like some more?” He’s asking for more!” Langley screams at him.

It is unknown why the airline employee was not booked. He was instead taken to the hospital for treatment of an eye wound, while Langley was arrested on a single count of simple assault on Thursday.

The fight is thought to have started when Langley used a wheelchair to transfer his bags instead of a $5 luggage cart.
United Airlines has failed to name the passenger or explain what happened, but a spokesman for the airline told DailyMail.com that the employee has been fired.

Langley addressed the encounter on Twitter on Thursday, writing, “yall aint off the hook… Worst customer service I’ve ever had on Heaven!!!!”

After TMZ broke the story, he claimed in a tweet on Monday that he was assaulted by the United employee and was defending himself.
