Cole Palmer ‘Receives Lesser Bonus’ Than Chelsea Teammates For Conference League Run

Cole Palmer may be Chelsea’s marquee player, but this will not be reflected in the bonus payments awarded if the club wins the Europa Conference League. Tonight, the Blues will meet Real Betis in Poland, and they have the chance to become the first English team to win all of their European titles.

It would also mark the club’s first silverware under Enzo Maresca. Following Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, the Italian manager has already overseen Champions League qualification and has exploited the Conference League this season to give his inflated squad game time. Palmer was actually left out of the squad for the whole group stage in order to manage the forward’s workload.

As a result, the 23-year-old has made just five appearances in the tournament. Kieran Dewsbury-Hall and Tyrique George are in line for the largest lump amount, having participated in all 14 games on the way to Wroclaw. Reported By Express News.

With 13 appearances, keeper Filip Jorgensen is next on the list, having played second fiddle to Robert Sanchez for much of the Premier League season. Benoit Baidiashile and Tosin Adarabioyo have each made 12.

Palmer, on the other hand, is unlikely to be bothered by his position at the bottom of the reward list. Last summer, he signed a new nine-year contract for roughly £130,000 per week, which is likely to be boosted by goal and performance bonus clauses.

“The message in the last 48 hours has been, we did something important,” stated the president. “However, if we want to prove that we are becoming a significant club, we must demonstrate a desire to win the title and the game. It’s the final.”
