Cole Palmer, Erling Haaland and Ollie Watkins In A Race To Win Premier League Golden Boot

Cole Palmer played an incredible four-goal performance against Everton on Monday night has brought him level with Erling Haaland in the Premier League Golden Boot race.

Palmer played a significant role in the match as Mauricio Pochettino’s team defeated the Toffees 6-0 at Stamford Bridge, increasing his league goal total to 20 goals this season.

He scored the first goal for Chelsea after 13 minutes with a magnificent curling effort following a brilliant bit of skill. Five minutes later, Jordan Pickford could only palm the ball into his path, and he doubled Chelsea’s lead with a close-range header.

After a mishandled pass from the shot-stopper, the 21-year-old lobbed England’s No. 1 from a distance to complete his treble in style.

After a devastating performance, Palmer received a standing ovation from all four stands at Stamford Bridge. He added a fourth from the penalty spot 19 minutes into the second half.

After scoring a hat-trick against Manchester United two weeks ago, the attacker appeared to be an outsider to win the Golden Boot. However, he is now solidly in the running for the top prize, going up against his old Man City teammate Haaland.

Palmer has an advantage in the Golden Boot race because he has two games remaining against Watkins and one game remaining against Haaland. The England international is currently playing in incredible form, and he will score more goals in the remaining games of the 2023–24 campaign.

Palmer will go into Chelsea’s next three league games feeling like he is going to score given his recent amazing form in front of goal, despite the fact that they are very difficult for Chelsea.

Other Players In Race For Golden Boot

Football London notes that now that the Premier League title race has shifted in Man City’s favor, Haaland will play a key role as they attempt to win four straight titles. The Norwegian hasn’t been as productive in the Premier League this year, but as Pep Guardiola’s team steps up their title defense, he should have plenty of opportunities to score in the final stretch.

Looking at their schedule, you can see that City has a strong finish to the season, and it makes sense that Haaland is still the favorite to win the Premier League Golden Boot again.

With just five Premier League games left in the season, Watkins is attempting to win the Golden Boot. Under Unai Emery, the Aston Villa player has had a fantastic season. He has already scored four more goals in the league than he did the previous year.

As things stand, Villa is in a great position to qualify for the Champions League, and Watkins will be essential as they try to defeat Tottenham and finish in fourth place.

Salah needs to step up and get back to his best self for Liverpool after their shocking loss to Crystal Palace on Sunday. Man City now holds the Premier League title, and Liverpool must hope that there will be another twist in the tale as Jurgen Klopp looks to cap off his time at Anfield with a title win.

Salah has a lot of work ahead of him if he is to beat Palmer, Watkins, or Haaland for the Golden Boot. He has only scored twice in his last five league games.
