Chivu Breaks Mourinho’s Serie A Record Following Inter Scudetto Win

Cristian Chivu has become the first foreign coach to win the Serie A championship since José Mourinho in 2010, when the current Inter manager was a player for the Special One at the Stadio Meazza.

Inter defeated Parma 2-0 at San Siro on Sunday to win their 21st Scudetto.

Chivu has won the Serie A title in his debut season at San Siro and his first full campaign in Italy’s top division after coaching Parma for just 13 games the previous season.

According to Football Italia, the Romanian is the first foreign coach to win the Scudetto since Mourinho in the 2009–10 season.

Chivu was a frequent starter for the legendary Portuguese manager at the time, who not only won the Serie A title but also achieved a memorable treble.
