Chelsea to rival PSG for £70m Inter Milan star Achraf Hakimi

Chelsea have joined the race to sign £70million-rated Inter Milan star Achraf Hakimi, according to reports in Italy.

The Serie A champions are seeking to cash in one of their stars this summer after claiming their first Serie A title in 11 years.

The decision played a big part in Antonio Conte quitting the San Siro – with the Italian now set to take over at Tottenham.

And now Chelsea have joined the hunt for Hakimi, according to Sky Italia.

Earlier this week, Hakimi’s agent dismissed reports linking the full back with a summer move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Hakimi has impressed this season at the San Siro after helping the Nerazzurri win Serie A for the first time in 11 years.

After joining for £40million from Real Madrid at the start of the season, the 22-year-old missed just one league game under Conte to help deliver the title.

Hakimi has been linked with a move to PSG for £50m, especially in the wake of Conte’s resignation following a disagreement over the potential firesale of Inter stars this summer.

But according to Calciomercato via Football Italia, his agent Alejandro Camano has quashed reports of a move for the Morocco international.

‘He is the best player in Europe in his position. That’s why there are so many rumours about him,’ Camano said. ‘Hakimi has four years left in his contract with Inter, and I want to clarify I haven’t talked to any other club.’

Despite Camano’s words of assurance to Inter supporters, he had played down links of Hakimi joining Inter last summer before signing for the Milan outfit two weeks later.
