Chelsea Receive Update On Mudryk Doping Case Following Appeal

Mykhailo Mudryk’s doping case was transferred to the Court of Arbitration for Sport after filing an appeal with the FA.

The FA suspended the Chelsea winger in December 2024 after he failed a drug test.

He has now filed an appeal, and the case has been forwarded to the CAS. According to Football London, “written submissions” have been shared and a hearing has not yet been set.

The Ukrainian winger’s stint on the field was cut short after an “adverse finding in a routine urine test.” He last appeared for the Blues in the UEFA Conference League in November 2024.

At the time, an FA spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with Anti-Doping Rule Violations alleging the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance, in terms of Regulations 3 and 4 of The FA’s Anti-Doping Regulations.

“As this is an ongoing case, we are not in a position to comment further at this time.”

Mudryk Still Waiting For Outcome

Mudryk has been waiting for the case’s result and his appeal since the FA charged him in June 2025. He might be banned for up to four years for breaking anti-doping regulations.

In a statement released in 2024, Mudryk admitted the failed drug test was a “complete shock” and that he had “not done anything wrong.”

Chelsea launched their own internal investigation and has not allowed the 25-year-old to train with the team since the initial suspension.

In 2023, Chelsea paid up to £89 million to sign Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk. The winger has 10 goals and 11 assists in 73 games.
