Former Chelsea captain John Terry will buy League Two team Colchester United, making him the most recent former Premier League player to do so.
The 45-year-old is anticipated to be revealed as a member of a consortium planning to acquire the mid-table club for £14 million.
According to The Sun, Terry will become the owner of a football team in the English pyramid, following in the footsteps of Ryan Reynolds, Snoop Dogg, and Will Ferrell.
According to one insider, the Blues legend is actually excited about the agreement being finalized.

The legend of the Blues is reportedly “absolutely buzzing” about joining The U’s and has a lot of faith in the club and personnel at the Essex-based outfit.
A former teammate expressed interest in buying the League Two team, which prompted his unanticipated foray into club ownership. But back in February, Terry’s old Chelsea teammate Alexandre Pato withdrew from talks.
The former Brazilian striker watched the U’s game against Fleetwood Town as a guest of chairman-owner Robbie Cowling and had been in talks to buy the club side.
