According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic is attracting interest from Chelsea. The Blues are looking to strengthen their defensive unit by adding a centre-back in the forthcoming transfer window.
According to the most recent reports, the winners of the 2024/25 UEFA Europa Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup have contacted the Serb’s entourage about a possible summer transfer. Meanwhile, AC Milan will seek approximately €40 million to split ways with Pavlovic ahead of the 2026/27 season.
How has Strahinja Pavlovic performed for AC Milan?
Strahinja Pavlovic has made significant development since moving to AC Milan from Red Bull Salzburg in July 2024. Born in Sabac, the 24-year-old spent his formative years in his home country, progressing through three teams’ academies before graduating from FK Partizan Belgrade’s youth division. Since then, he has represented teams in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy.

Pavlovic has been a mainstay for AC Milan over the last two seasons, playing over 5,000 minutes in 65 games. Meanwhile, the 52-cap Serbian international has been a regular for his national team, and his performances for both club and country have caught the attention of several high-profile teams, including Chelsea. Meanwhile, AC Milan will seek approximately €40 million to sell him this summer.
Premier League adventure beckoning?
Chelsea’s interest in Strahinja Pavlovic is understandable. The Blues are looking for a centre-back ahead of the summer transfer window in order to provide Levi Colwill with a long-term defensive partner. While Trevoh Chalobah has been reliable since returning from a loan spell with Crystal Palace, he is prone to making the occasional mistake.
Furthermore, Axel Disasi has no future at Chelsea, and the Frenchman might make a permanent move to West Ham United. Several options have since appeared on Chelsea’s wishlist, with Pavlovic possibly a plausible option.
With the West London club stepping up their efforts to sign the 24-year-old Serb from AC Milan, a deal might be on the cards. However, it remains uncertain whether Chelsea will be willing to pay €40 million to capture Pavlovic from the Serie A team this summer.
