Brendan Rodgers Issues Apology To Leicester City Fans Over Tough Start To The Season

Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers has pleaded with the fans of the club to get behind the club in their survival bid quest.

This season, the foxes’ manager has encountered chants and placards demanding his dismissal on a number of occasions. Including after the most recent game, a 1-1 draw at Brentford. With just one point separating Leicester from the relegation zone. As the season’s closing two months get underway at Crystal Palace on Saturday at 3 p.m.

They weren’t anticipated to be in this situation before the season. And Rodgers acknowledged that the season had been “a tough gig” for supporters. But he wants them to back the players and give them the drive they need. In order to produce the results that will keep them in the Premier League.

He said: “Supporters have always been brilliant in my time here. I understand their frustration. It’s not a position the club have been in for a long time. I can only focus on the job, which is steering us away from where we are, Leicestershire Live reported.

“All you want is for the supporters to really back the team over this next period, because when they do that it gives them so much energy and hope in the games. We’ve seen that many times since I’ve been here.

“I never think about myself. It’s natural if you’re not winning as consistently as you did before that you come under pressure from supporters. I respect that, I’m a custodian of their club, and they want to see their club doing better. That’s my responsibility.”
