Berbatov returning to Manchester United to work under Mourinho

Dimitar Berbatov is set to return to train with Manchester United, according to reports in Bulgaria.

The 35-year-old is currently a free agent and will work under Jose Mourinho at Carrington for a week.

Berbatov is reportedly travelling to London on Wednesday along with some of his close friends before they head up to Manchester.

The former Premier League star will spend his time at Carrington not only building up his fitness but also watching Mourinho at work, as he considers a future in coaching, according to Bulgarian outlet Sportal.bg.

The ex-Bulgaria international and several of his friends will not be at Selhurst Park to watch United take on Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening but they are expected to watch Manchester City face Arsenal in the crunch league tie on Sunday.

Berbatov played for Manchester United between 2008 and 2012, scoring 56 times in 149 appearances and winning two Premier Leagues, the League Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

He won the Premier League Golden Boot, which he shared with Carlos Tevez, in 2010-11 and also played for Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham.
