Barcelona has had another highly successful season, despite missing out on the Champions League. They kept their La Liga and Spanish Super Cup championships, putting them in a good position to challenge for more in the 2026-27 season.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who will begin his fourth term in July, expressed his joy in looking back on the season during a media briefing on Wednesday, according to Sport.

“They are lovely ways to remember the season.” It’s two leagues in a row, a solid bunch with a long way to go. You are aware that a union exists; it is a well-balanced group. Deco works great, and Flick is quite enthused about what’s to come. But next season will be considerably more difficult than this one. The level of demand will climb. “The players are aware that they are creating their own legend.”
Laporta: We’ll always be thankful to Lewandowski.
Laporta also paid respect to Robert Lewandowski, who confirmed over the weekend that he will leave Barcelona once his contract ends at the end of next month.
“Lewandowski is already on the Barcelona crest. We will always be thankful. We gained reputation both on an athletic and economic level as a result of his efforts. He arrived at a very tough period. He has made significant contributions to the group, and we will always be appreciative.
Laporta was also questioned about signing Lewandowski’s successor, which is the major transaction Barcelona is preparing for this summer’s transfer window.
“You have to discuss Julián (Alvarez) with Deco. We will be able to sign what we believe is necessary to increase our competitiveness.”
