Barcelona Coach Flick Has Two New ‘Untouchable’ Players

According to SPORT, FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has two new, perhaps surprise, ‘untouchable’ first-team squad players citing unidentified sources.

The local press in Catalonia and Spain frequently uses this title to describe those who cannot be sold at any price and are essential to their boss.

In a Barcelona setting, it is typically assigned to players like as Lamine Yamal and Pedri, although it can be lost, as witnessed with captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The German shotstopper kept such elevated rank in the team for what appears to be countless moons.

With former Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia having signed and publicized this summer, Ter Stegen is virtually being driven out of the club and is due for showdown discussions with Flick only a few days before preseason training begins on July 13.

Eric Garcia and Fermin Lopez have already been linked with moves away from the club.

Xavi Hernandez, then-first-team coach, wanted his fellow Catalan to continue at the club for the 2023/2024 season, but Eric chose a brief term at Girona, which provided him with the confidence and experience the former Manchester City defender may have needed earlier.

Garcia went on to be a Swiss Army knife for Flick during Barcelona’s recent treble-winning season, capable of playing multiple places along the backline and in defensive midfield.

He even scored critical goals, such as one to level the game at the San Siro when Barcelona trailed Inter Milan 2-0 before losing the second leg and, essentially, their Champions League quarterfinal, 4-3.

Fermin Lopez is a big game player, as evidenced by his performance against Flick’s former team Bayern Munich. He is one of the squad’s hardest workers, bringing the intensity that is essential to Flick’s success.
