FC Barcelona have reportedly altered their approach to signing Marcus Rashford, dealing a surprise blow to Manchester United.
Rashford, currently on loan in Spain, has impressed under Hansi Flick, contributing 13 goals and 13 assists in 45 appearances this season.

According to reports, Barcelona are unwilling to activate the €30 million purchase option included in the loan deal.

Barcelona seek cheaper deal for Rashford
If a new loan agreement cannot be reached, Barcelona are expected to attempt renegotiating the transfer fee to a lower figure.
However, Manchester United are unlikely to accept anything below the agreed €30 million valuation, especially after Rashford’s resurgence in La Liga.
Despite uncertainty, Barcelona remain keen to keep the forward, with Flick reportedly approving his continued stay, reports Team Talk.
Rashford himself is said to favour remaining at the club and has even shown willingness to take a pay cut to make a permanent move possible.
Meanwhile, interest from elsewhere continues to grow. Tottenham Hotspur could make a move if Barcelona fail to secure his services, while Arsenal have also been suggested as a potential destination.
With Rashford under contract at United until 2028, the club faces a crucial decision on whether to cash in now or risk losing value in the coming years.
