Arteta Set Sights On Real Madrid Duo Ahead Of January Window

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta is reportedly eyeing a double transfer swoop for Real Madrid stars, Rodrygo Goes and Victor Valdepenas ahead of the January transfer window.

According to reports, Arsenal were thinking of pursuing Brazilian attacker Rodrygo during the summer transfer window.

The Real Madrid player was repeatedly linked to the Gunners during the summer, but in the end, he stayed in Spain for the 2025–2026 campaign.

According to the Mirror, Liverpool are interested in signing the 24-year-old, and a hefty £78 million is the asking price to entice the attacker away from the Bernabeu.

However, it seems that Valdepenas is another player who Arsenal are said to be interested in luring away from Real Madrid, in addition to Rodrygo.

According to ESPN as reported by the Daily Star, Arsenal are keeping an eye on the 19-year-old defender, while Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are also believed to be interested.

Madrid manager Xabi Alonso may be determined about keeping Valdepenas after praising the youngster following his bow against Alaves.

Despite the teenager’s error that allowed Alaves to level the score, Alonso remarked: “We conceded on the only occasion that Valdepeñas made a mistake, because in all the others he was very accurate and played very well.

“But then, the team continued to stand up and fight, battling hard in a difficult stadium against a very intense opponent. We got that second goal that gave us the three points and we’re leaving here happy.”
