Arsenal Targets Newcastle’s Alexander Isak As A Potential Forward

According to a story that The Guardian published on April 18, Arsenal is apparently looking to add Newcastle’s Alexander Isak to their attacking line for the upcoming campaign.

Isak, who signed a transfer record with Newcastle in August 2022 for an initial sum of £63 million, is reportedly capable of commanding a transfer value of up to £100 million.

Isak moved to St. James’ Park last winter after Arsenal had previously scouted him intensively but they eventually withdrew from the race without making a bid, as reported by SB Nation.

After Bayern Munich comfortably eliminated Arsenal from the Champions League, it is reasonable to assume that the team would consider adding players before the next season.

This will be the second straight year that Arsenal has not advanced to the semifinals since 2009.

They are also beginning to lose ground in the Premier League race, with Manchester City once again appearing to be the overwhelming favorite to win the championship, unless Liverpool and not Arsenal can stop that from happening with six games left.

Arsenal must exercise caution off the pitch to adhere to the Premier League’s sustainability and profitability regulations.

Even so, the team should have enough cash on hand to try to sign Isak or anyone else the Gunners would be interested in signing.

It isn’t that Arsenal lacks financial strength; during the past year, KSE’s valuation has climbed by £2.3 billion, in part because of the success of its other sports endeavors, such the Denver Nuggets winning their first NBA title.

It’s still unclear if Josh Kroenke, the non-executive director of Arsenal and Edu, the sporting director, will pursue Isak or another target when deciding how much money to spend on future moves.
