Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has suffered ‘small setback’ in his attempt to restart his season for the Premier League title race.
The Gunners midfielder has struggled with injuries this season, missing 11 games owing to muscular and knee concerns.
Odegaard appeared to have finished his rehabilitation during the international break, appearing in the FA Cup loss to Southampton last weekend and the Champions League match against Sporting CP on Tuesday.
The Norwegian international appeared to be in pain as he exited the pitch in Lisbon, being replaced by Kai Havertz with 20 minutes remaining in the game.

The 27-year-old was one of several players who did not attend first-team training on Thursday in preparation for Saturday’s Premier League game against Bournemouth.
Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber, and Piero Hincapie were also unavailable, having missed the previous two games, as was Riccardo Calafiori.
According to Norwegian broadcaster TV2, Odegaard’s problem appears to be his knee again, although national team manager Stale Solbakken has allayed concerns that it is a long-term issue.
Martin “got one” when he shouldn’t have, but I don’t think it was a bad one. I believe he will return to the field in the not-too-distant future,’ the Norway manager added.
‘A minor setback, but it doesn’t have to matter much.’
Mikel Arteta will address the media on Friday afternoon, and he is anticipated to deliver an update on Odegaard and the other injured players of his squad.
Arsenal lost the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City before the international break, and their FA Cup elimination against Southampton reduced their lofty expectations of a historic quadruple to a double.
They lead the Premier League by nine points as activity resumes this weekend.
