Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta And PSG’s Luis Enrique Have Spoken To Atletico Madrid Forward Julian Alvarez

Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez is the subject of constant speculation about his future, despite attempts to quell suspicions that he may leave the club this summer. Barcelona has apparently identified him as a top target for the summer transfer window.

Barcelona’s initial offer for Alvarez was published this week, as the club searches for a long-term replacement for him. The Catalan giants also have many candidates on their shortlist in case the transaction fails, recognizing that it would be difficult to complete.

Not least because Atletico Madrid does not want to sell Alvarez to Barcelona. According to El Chiringuito, Los Colchoneros are desperate to avoid losing their star striker to the Blaugrana, and would only start discussions for Alvarez at about €150 million, much beyond Barcelona’s €100 million price restriction on the Argentina international.

It has previously been reported that Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has spoken with Alvarez about a potential move, and now Matias Palacios, who provided the above information to El Chiringuito, claims that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Paris Saint-Germain’s Luis Enrique have also spoken with Alvarez about a move, in addition to Flick. On Tuesday, Atletico manager Diego Simeone listed all three as potential destinations for Alvarez.
