Arne Slot said it would be “unrealistic” to expect Liverpool to match their performance against Galatasaray when they travel to Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday.
Liverpool advanced to the Champions League quarter-finals with a 4-0 victory over Galatasaray at Anfield, with Dominik Szoboszlai, Hugo Ekitike, Ryan Gravenberch, and Mohamed Salah on target in possibly the Reds’ strongest performance in what has been a disappointing season, Reported By Echo news.
Liverpool dominated from start to finish, with 16 shots on target in the second leg of the last-16, resulting in an expected goal total of more than 5.0. In comparison, the visitors only took two shots entire night.

While Slot voiced his joy at such a convincing victory, he acknowledged that the short turnaround before Saturday’s early kick-off against Brighton makes reproducing those standards nearly hard.
“It is not as simple as you think to say: ‘If you bring this tonight, you can bring this every game’,” the Dutchman told reporters after the Champions League victory.
“There is an opponent to play against, a style of play, and a variety of other elements that influence what we can bring tonight.
“There have been many, many occasions or parts of games when we have demonstrated this, but generally there are 10 minutes where we drop back a little bit or the other team takes control, and 99 out of 100 times that is when we concede because it is their first chance and they score.
“That didn’t happen today because we didn’t give up and didn’t lose any intensity.
“So, yes, we want us to perform consistently at this level. Unfortunately, for the fifth or sixth time, I believe we will only have two days of rest before traveling to Brighton for an early kickoff. That does not seem plausible to me.
