Ancelotti Offers Madrid Star A Spot On His Backroom Staff

Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly offered Luka Modric the chance to join his coaching staff if the Croatian veteran decides to call time on his illustrious footballing career.

According to Madrid Universal, the veteran midfielder first turned down Ancelotti’s invitation to become a member of his coaching staff. But the rejection did not appear to be a “definitive no,” raising the possibility that he would change his mind.

Although a lot has been said about Modric, whose Real Madrid contract expires at the end of the current campaign. Ancelotti has previously stated that only Modric will decide whether or not to extend his contract.

“As I have already said [on other occasions], Luka is a legend of football, of Real Madrid. The decisions for next season have to be taken by him.”

Modric received an offer from Ancelotti, and this was done about two months ago. It is anticipated that the initial rejection will not be final.

It is reported that this offer to Modric is unrelated to the choices made about Francesco Mauri and Davide Ancelotti, the assistant coaches.

Take note that both declined a large offer from Saudi Arabia in January. Demonstrating their dedication to the current coaching team.

Speaking anonymously to protect relationships, sources have revealed that Modric is still open to thinking about taking on the coaching position.
