According to SPORT and the Daily Mail, FC Barcelona has rekindled its interest in perhaps acquiring Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane by initiating negotiations with his team.
In the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, the England number nine scored three goals for his nation. He hit a cross from Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham against Panama at the weekend, returning to the scoresheet following an outstanding brace in a 4-2 opening victory over Croatia.
DR Congo will now play Kane’s Three Lions in the round of 32. The winner of Ecuador and Mexico would come next, and if certain things work out, they may face Raphinha’s Brazil in the quarterfinals and Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the semifinals.

The 32-year-old is totally focused on helping England go through the North American knockout stages in order to get revenge for the heartbreaks he had in the 2021 and 2024 Euro finals.
Barça apparently approached Kane’s representatives to investigate a potential transfer that would have him wear blaugrana next season, so his club position will be resolved once the English campaign at the FIFA showcase concludes.
Kane would make perfect sense for FC Barcelona and can repeat the Robert Lewandowski formula
Robert Lewandowski, who was very close to turning 34, was acquired in 2022 for $57 million (€50 million).
However, Barça were still able to receive top goalscoring form from “Lewy” due to the Pole’s professionalism and the way he takes care of his body.
Lewandowski, a modern-day club star who won three La Liga titles and scored 120 goals in 193 games, will depart the team on June 30 as a free agent. Chicago Fire looks like his next destination right now.
At thirty-two, Kane is a model professional who is still at the top of his game. He might make more sense than a more costly Julian Alvarez and would be a huge success at the Spotify Camp Nou under Hansi Flick.
