Manchester United legend Teddy Sheringham believes Marcus Rashford should consider every option available this summer, including a sensational move to Liverpool, if his boyhood club no longer sees him as part of their plans.
Rashford is expected to return to Old Trafford after spending last season on loan at Barcelona, where he enjoyed an impressive campaign by helping the Spanish giants win La Liga while contributing 14 goals and 14 assists, reports Liverpool.
However, Barcelona opted against making the deal permanent after prioritising the signing of Anthony Gordon.
With his future once again uncertain, speculation has linked the England international with several clubs, including Tottenham, as Roberto De Zerbi continues reshaping his squad.
United legend says rivals should not be ruled out if Old Trafford exit becomes inevitable
Despite describing a switch to Liverpool as the “ultimate betrayal” for Manchester United supporters, Sheringham argued that Rashford must make the best decision for his own career if the club no longer wants him.
He also insisted the Red Devils should remain in control of the situation, pointing to Rashford’s long-term contract and suggesting the club should either benefit from a transfer or reintegrate him into Michael Carrick’s squad.

Sheringham believes Rashford’s current World Cup form proves he still has plenty to offer and questioned why United would not attempt to rebuild the relationship.
According to the former striker, football moves quickly, and if Rashford returns motivated, works hard and performs consistently, supporters could soon move past the recent tensions and once again embrace him as a key player at Old Trafford.
