Marcus Rashford’s contract contains a release clause that allows him to leave Manchester United for £40million to any club this summer except Manchester City or Liverpool.
The 28-year-old is currently with England for the World Cup, but it’s unclear what awaits him after the competition because Barcelona chose not to exercise their option to purchase the Englishman permanently after first getting him on loan last summer.
Barca would have been able to get Rashford for a cheap £26 million thanks to their deal with United. Instead, Anthony Gordon, his England teammate, was signed by the Spanish champions for £70 million.
Rashford is essentially back on the market now that that contract is off the table, his suitors will have to pay a higher fee for his services than Barcelona.
Clubs Apart From Man City, Liverpool Can Sign Rashford
According to The Athletic, Rashford’s contract, which has two more years remaining, has a £40 million release clause that is available to all teams except Manchester United’s two greatest domestic rivals.

Numerous reports have stated that several Premier League teams have already “expressed an interest” in Rashford, who scored 28 goals for Barcelona in the previous campaign.
According to the source, Rashford would play for his boyhood club rather than another English team if he were to play in the Premier League the next campaign.
Manchester United may look to add Crysencio Summerville to their offensive options if Rashford were to depart Old Trafford permanently this summer.
