Real Madrid Edge Closer To Amazing Double Swoop

Real Madrid Edge Closer To Amazing Double Swoop

Real Madrid are already making good headway behind the scenes on their squad for the upcoming season, even as the presidential election is scheduled to conclude in a few days.

It may not be long before two new signings are formally confirmed.

According to AS as reported by Goal, if Florentino Pérez is re-elected as club president on June 7, Ibrahima Konaté is expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.

According to reports, the 79-year-old and the Liverpool centre back have reached an agreement for a four-year contract; however, the agreement cannot be finalised unless he defeats Enrique Riquelme in the election.

This summer, Konate is anticipated to be the first of numerous additions to the Bernabéu.

Dumfries Set For Real Madrid Move

Denzel Dumfries is expected to leave Inter Milan for Real Madrid, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Real are merely exercising his €20 million release clause; no negotiations were required. The Dutch international is still bound to Inter until 2028.

Five years ago, Dumfries paid just under €14 million to join Inter from PSV Eindhoven, and he immediately established himself as a regular on the right wing.

He had his most successful season to date in 2024–2025, scoring 11 goals and dishing out six assists in 47 competitive games.

With two goals and three assists in the thrilling semifinal match against FC Barcelona, he was directly responsible for six of Inter’s seven goals against the Catalans. His performances were vital to Inter’s journey to the Champions League final.

Dumfries will compete with Trent Alexander-Arnold for the right-back position at Real Madrid following the departure of club legend Dani Carvajal.

The 27-year-old, who signed a free transfer from Liverpool last summer, had little effect in his first season due to two protracted muscle injuries.

Manager Thomas Tuchel left him out of England’s World Cup team to end off a disappointing campaign.
