Riquelme will reportedly present his candidacy to Real Madrid’s Electoral Board this Thursday as he targets leadership at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Spanish businessman is assembling an influential team filled with major corporate figures to strengthen his challenge against Perez this summer.
According to reports, sons of Vicente Boluda and Fernando Fernandez Tapias are involved alongside investor Rosauro Varo in the ambitious project.
Raw materials businessman Damaso Quintana and Iberdrola executive David Mesonero are also expected to play important roles within Riquelme’s growing campaign.
Riquelme Opposes Potential Club Privatisation
Angel Martin, a close friend of Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos, could reportedly become vice-president if Riquelme wins the elections.
However, Riquelme must first secure a financial guarantee worth €194 million before officially confirming his presidential candidacy at Real Madrid.
The businessman’s campaign strongly focuses on protecting club ownership and opposing what he believes could become Real Madrid’s future privatisation process.
Riquelme warned these elections could become the final democratic vote in Real Madrid history if privatisation plans eventually move forward internally.
He insisted the club must always remain under the ownership of members instead of becoming controlled by private investors or corporations, reports Madrid Universal.
Riquelme also described his candidacy as both a moral and ethical responsibility aimed at presenting exciting leadership alternatives for Real Madrid.
