Marc-André ter Stegen is reportedly facing an uncertain future at FC Barcelona after falling out of Hansi Flick’s plans for next season.
According to reports, Barcelona are preparing for a difficult summer as they attempt to resolve several goalkeeping situations within the squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Ter Stegen is expected to return to the club following a disappointing loan spell at Girona FC, where injuries severely disrupted his season.
The 34-year-old suffered a serious hamstring injury early into his loan move, adding to concerns after previously recovering from a major knee injury the season before.
Barcelona Facing Goalkeeping Dilemma
Reports claim Flick no longer views Ter Stegen as part of his long-term plans at Barcelona, despite the German international still having two years remaining on his contract.
His high wages are also believed to complicate any potential departure, while doubts remain over whether Europe’s top clubs would be willing to invest heavily in a goalkeeper recovering from consecutive serious injuries.
Barcelona’s goalkeeping department is also becoming increasingly crowded, reports Barca Universal.
Wojciech Szczęsny reportedly wants to remain at the club, despite understanding he may begin next season behind Joan García in the pecking order.
Meanwhile, Iñaki Peña is expected to return from loan, while academy goalkeepers Ander Astralaga and Áron Yaakobishvili are also set to rejoin the club structure this summer.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the other goalkeepers, reports suggest Barcelona have already decided Ter Stegen will not play a major role next season.
