Man United Set For Talks With Carrick About Permanent Managerial Role

Manchester United are reportedly set to speak with Michael Carrick about continuing to be in charge after the season is over.

Since taking over for the rest of the season in January when Ruben Amorim’s turbulent Red Devils tenure came to an acrimonious end, the 44-year-old has exceeded a great deal of expectations.

United have qualified for the Champions League with three games remaining, and are on the verge of taking third place in the Premier League thanks to Carrick’s coaching.

According to The Independent, the former midfielder, captain, and coach of the team is now in a strong position to remain in a position, and it is anticipated that he will discuss it with the team before the season ends.

Although United have looked into other possibilities, Carrick has long been regarded as the front-runner for a position that some players have openly supported.

United Executives Voted For Carrick

According to the Athletic, chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox would advocate that he be given the position at an executive meeting this week.

Carrick is scheduled to address the media on Friday prior to Sunday’s season-ending home match against Nottingham Forest, where Casemiro will have the opportunity to say goodbye to the Old Trafford supporters.

After joining from Real Madrid in 2022, the well-liked 34-year-old midfielder announced in January that he would be departing United when his contract expired this summer.

Since then, Casemiro has excelled, scoring five goals and missing just one Carrick-era game, a 0-0 draw against Sunderland on Saturday.

However, the Brazil international and Manuel Ugarte, who missed the Wearside trip due to a back injury, returned to the team’s training on Wednesday morning.
