Fabrizio Romano Confirms Casemiro And Ugarte Set To Be Replaced This Season

Manchester United are expected to prioritise midfield reinforcements this summer, with Fabrizio Romano claiming two arrivals are now highly likely.

The Red Devils are preparing for a major rebuild ahead of next season, especially with Champions League football expected to return.

United have already identified midfield as one of the most urgent areas needing improvement before the summer transfer window opens.

Casemiro is set to leave Old Trafford at the end of the campaign, creating a major vacancy in central midfield, reports Manchester World.

Manuel Ugarte could also depart permanently, with reports suggesting early movement has already started regarding his possible exit.

That means Manchester United may need at least two new midfielders, and possibly even a third, before next season begins.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Manchester United transfer direction

Speaking in his latest update, Romano said the club’s decision is clearly moving towards signing two midfield players.

He explained that one midfield signing is already guaranteed, while the second is now becoming almost certain for United.

Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson remains one of the club’s dream targets ahead of what could be a defining summer.

Manchester United are also monitoring players including Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton, Joao Gomes, Alex Scott and Mateus Fernandes.

A move for Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali is viewed as more difficult because of the financial demands involved.

United reportedly want at least one elite midfield addition and could even break their transfer record for the right player.

With major departures expected and the squad needing fresh energy, midfield looks certain to be Manchester United’s biggest priority.

The club’s transfer business this summer could ultimately shape how competitive Michael Carrick’s side become next season.
