What Lisandro Martinez Felt About The Early Exit Of Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo was involved in an incident that overshadowed Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

United became only the second team to defeat Antonio Conte’s side this season, with Ronaldo an unused substitute in the game at Old Trafford.

Despite the fact that the game was still in progress as the 90th minute approached, Ronaldo walked down the tunnel.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag was asked about Ronaldo’s actions to which he replied that he would deal with the issue.

“I’ve seen him,” said Ten Hag. “I didn’t speak to him after. I’ll deal with that tomorrow.”

What Did Martinez Say About Ronaldo?

The performance against Spurs was arguably United’s best of the season, but Ronaldo is dominating the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

United centre-back Lisandro Martinez echoed Ten Hag in playing down the Ronaldo incident. The Argentina international stated that he was too busy celebrating with his teammates after the game to notice Ronaldo leave the tunnel.

“I didn’t see anything,” explained the defender. “I don’t know, I only enjoy with the people, we won, and that’s important.”

Even so, it’s not exactly the best preparation for United, who play Chelsea on Saturday in a titanic matchup in west London at Stamford Bridge.

After ten games each, the two teams are separated by just a single point.

The course of action against Ronaldo, who was rumored to be moving to Chelsea over the summer, is still up in the air.

The Portuguese has hardly played in the Premier League. He has started just two games this year, however, United didn’t win neither nor did he score.
