Real Madrid\u2018s star forward Cristiano Ronaldo refuses to wear black boots<\/a> as he wants to \u201cfeel fast\u201d, the global vice president for Nike Football Footwear Max Blau has revealed.<\/p>\n

Ronaldo recently won the Ballon d\u2019Or for the fourth time after helping Los Blancos lift the Champions League and captaining his country Portugal to success at Euro 2016.<\/p>\n

Now, Blau has revealed that Ronaldo determines every aspect of his footwear before stepping out on to the field and has spoke of the 31-year-old\u2019s unfathomable desire to improve on what he has achieved previously.<\/p>\n

Blau said, as reported by Goal: \u201cIt all starts with him. I think he\u2019s amazing but he\u2019s the first to say \u2018I can improve\u2019. He says he can get better and will do his part, but he needs us to do ours too. That puts a lot of pressure on us.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to come up with something to help him. That\u2019s how we came up with the new Mercurial Superfly [the boots he currently wears]. Every player has their favourite colour, and it\u2019s been scientifically proven that the colour of the boots activates chemicals in the player\u2019s mind.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you feel better, you play better. The main reason of the colour is to give confidence. For example, Ronaldo doesn\u2019t like to wear black boots because he says back looks slow and he wants to feel fast.\u201d<\/p>\n
