‘Who The Hell Is Dani Carvajal?!’ – Ex Barcelona President

Former Barcelona president Joan Gaspart has reportedly criticized Dani Carvajal for the heated altercation with Lamine Yamal following Real Madrid’s victory in the Clasico on Sunday.

Gaspart gave advise to Barca’s young star and stated that Carvajal is “finished” and shouldn’t have angered the 18-year-old at the end of the game.

After Los Blancos’ 2-1 victory over Barcelona in Sunday’s Clasico, Gaspart joined the fray to support the sensational Yamal.

Madrid captain Carvajal became the focal point of post-match hostilities when he questioned the 18-year-old about comments he had made before to the game.

Gaspart Lashes Out At Carvajal

Speaking on La Posesion, Gaspart launched a strong defence of the teenager while taking aim at Carvajal. “Who the hell is Carvajal? He was a great player, but he’s finished now,” the ex-president said bluntly.

“Why should Lamine call him if his statements weren’t even directed at him?”

Gaspart, who was Barcelona’s president from 2000 to 2003, insisted that the young forward’s brilliance has attracted love and great expectations from the Barcelona supporters, likening the criticism around him to a father reprimanding a kid.

“They made the mistake of calling him the best in the world too early. He could become it, but he’s not there yet.”

Gaspart also weighed in on how Barca should manage their young star, calling on Flick to be the authoritative figure Yamal needs.

“If Lamine is not in top condition, it’s better for him to stop and not play,” he noted. “He should slow down and recover. He needs to play at his best and not have excuses.”
