UFC Legend Lashes Out At Real Madrid Players After Alonso’s Dismissal- ‘Change The Players, Not The Coach’

Xabi Alonso’s departure from Real Madrid continues to send shockwaves throughout the football world.

While former players, managers, and journalists have previously spoken out, the conversation has now moved on to another sport entirely.

This time, criticism has come from an unexpected but powerful source: UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Khabib, known for his discipline, directness, and uncompromising attitude, did not mince words while discussing Alonso’s departure.

What exactly did he say?

From his perspective, the problem at Real Madrid extends beyond tactics and outcomes. The former lightweight champion believes that authority in the locker room cannot be compromised.

He stated frankly, “If the team environment does not allow you to follow your instructions, something is wrong.”  Reported by Mli News.

He believes that when players refuse to follow orders, even great teams lose clarity and direction.

The UFC icon went a step further, openly supporting Alonso’s coaching qualifications. Rather than criticizing the Spaniard’s ability, Khabib ranked him among the world’s best footballers.

“I believe Xabi Alonso is one of the three best coaches in football now. If a squad does not cooperate with him, you must change the players, not the coach.”

Khabib stated that abandoning such a project sends the wrong message, particularly at a team that expects consistent success.

“A good coach imposes his style without creating conflict; the problem is not with him, but with the squad.”

Nonetheless, Khabib acknowledged the inherent challenges that come with leading a club like Real Madrid.

“I am confident that no coach can handle a squad like Real Madrid’s. There are inconsistent players who should be released.”

His most powerful statements were kept for Alonso himself. Reflecting on how quickly conditions changed, Khabib identified a lack of loyalty from the club.

“There’s nothing like loyalty. They begged him a year ago, and now they’re firing him for spoiling the children. “Xabi, you’re the best,” he finished.
