A spokesperson confirmed America’s stance, saying they would “absolutely work” to stop attempts to suspend Israel’s national team from FIFA events.

The news comes after a panel of U.N.-appointed experts called for Israel’s suspension, citing alleged “genocide” in Gaza against Hamas terrorists.

FIFA Faces Pressure Over Israel’s Participation

The U.N. experts urged FIFA and UEFA to suspend Israel’s team, echoing past sanctions imposed on Russia following the Ukraine invasion.

European officials are reportedly debating the issue, but so far no final decision has been made regarding Israel’s World Cup status.

FIFA has not yet commented on the U.N. panel’s recommendation, though political and sporting tensions around the conflict continue rising globally.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino, recently hosted by Trump at the White House, emphasized football’s role in uniting people despite global divisions, reports News Max.

Meanwhile, FIFA is investigating discrimination complaints from the Palestinian FA, as well as settlement club participation in Israeli domestic competitions.
