Tottenham Sack Thomas Frank After Dire Domestic Run

Tottenham fired head coach Thomas Frank after only eight months in charge and an eight-game winless streak in domestic competitions.

Spurs suffered another home setback on Tuesday night, falling 2-1 to Newcastle, with fans once again chanting “you’re getting sacked in the morning” at their boss, Reported By Independent News.

Such a nasty attitude was witnessed during January’s home defeat of London rivals West Ham, another struggling team, and frustration has intensified as a result of dropped points against relegation-threatened Burnley and Saturday’s defeat to Manchester United.

While an outstanding Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund appeared to provide Frank with a reprieve in January, followed by a victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the same competition, the loss to Manchester United proved to be the final nail in Frank’s coffin.

The 52-year-old signed a three-year contract when he replaced Ange Postecoglou at the end of last season, following his impressive seven-year-spell at Brentford. He departs with Spurs six points off the Premier League’s relegation zone and out of the domestic cups.

Tottenham’s home Premier League record has been especially poor under Frank. They’ve only won two home league games all season, and the loss to the Magpies was their eighth.
