Tottenham Hotspur have spoken with Bournemouth about a potential deal for Antoine Semenyo, as they look to improve their alternatives in the final third, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Semenyo has had an amazing stint with the Cherries in recent years, earning himself a new contract earlier this summer. Bournemouth had previously set a £75 million price tag on Semenyo’s head, even before he decided to sign a new contract, and after losing a slew of players in the window, they will not want to let him go cheaply.
Tottenham are attempting to sign another player in the final third before the market closes next week, especially after it was announced that James Maddison will be out for the majority of the season due to an injury. Despite being advanced, moves for Eberechi Eze and Morgan Gibbs-White fell through this summer, leaving them with little options.
Tottenham Make Contact to Sign Semenyo
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano confirmed that Tottenham had made inquiries to see if they may recruit Semenyo during the summer transfer season.

“In the last 24/48 hours, Tottenham has made several calls for other players. They wanted to comprehend Lucas Paqueta’s status at West Ham. Semenyo at Bournemouth is also a player they appreciate and know well, and was previously a target, but now that it is late in the market, it will be difficult. Another name raised internally at Tottenham during the last 24 hours, and it will soon be time to make a decision. Soon, it will be time to make final decisions, attack, and pursue these new signings. However, Tottenham will undoubtedly be active in the market again. It is not over at all. So they are confident that they will find the solutions they seek.”
