Tottenham Hotspur defeated Everton 3-0 on Sunday, thanks to a brace from Micky van de Ven and a late score by Pape Mata Sarr, moving them up to third place in the Premier League standings.
And, while the outcome is most important to Thomas Frank, it is difficult to overlook Tottenham’s number nines’ lack of impact this season, Randal Kolo Muani against Everton and Dominic Solanke and Richarlison otherwise.
Dominic Solanke’s fitness has been a source of concern for much of his time at the club since signing from Bournemouth last year, and while Richarlison began the season strongly, his form has fallen in recent matches, with little influence on the pitch.
Tottenham are seeking for a long-term solution to their problem, and Caught Offside reports that they are considering signing Porto striker and Spanish international Samu Aghehowa, who has previously been connected with Chelsea.

He has an £87 million release clause with the Liga NOS giants, and after a strong start to the season with eight goals and two assists in all competitions, he might be on his way to the Premier League next year after a blocked transfer in 2024.
Tottenham might have a clean path to Aghehowa.
Chelsea would have been the most serious contenders to Tottenham Hotspur’s bid for Samu Aghehowa, but with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap joining this year, the Blues are unlikely to add another striker any time soon.
As a result, Tottenham Hotspur would have a clear road to signing the 21-year-old, as the rest of their Premier League competitors already have strong first-choice strikers and may not want to pay as much for Aghehowa.
Porto’s main striker promises to be a fantastic signing for the Lilywhites, with his mobility and strength in the box a huge asset, while his defensive contribution through pressing and tracking back will make him an excellent fit in Thomas Frank’s setup.
