Tottenham Hotspur have made phone calls to explore a move for Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers after missing out on Eberechi Eze, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The North London club suffered a huge setback this week when Arsenal hijacked their pursuit of Crystal Palace star Eze, who is set to complete a £68m move to the Emirates, reports Give Me Sport.
With just over a week left in the transfer window, Spurs have quickly turned their attention to alternative attacking targets, and Rogers has emerged as a name on their shortlist.
Rogers Identified As Dream Signing
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano confirmed Tottenham view Rogers as an ideal replacement for Eze.
However, he stressed that any deal is “almost impossible” with Aston Villa refusing to sell their £100m-rated star.

Rogers enjoyed a breakout 2024/25 season at Villa Park, scoring and assisting 19 times in 37 league appearances.
His form earned him the PFA Young Player of the Year award and a contract extension until 2030.
Tottenham’s interest comes at a time when Ange Postecoglou is desperate to strengthen his attacking midfield.
The club has been left light in creativity following James Maddison’s ACL injury and Son Heung-min’s move to Los Angeles FC.
Despite admiration for Rogers, Villa remain firm in their stance, with manager Unai Emery viewing the 23-year-old as a key part of his long-term project.
Unless Spurs move for a cheaper alternative, their pursuit of Rogers looks destined to end in frustration before deadline day.
