Ter Stegen Will Terminate Barcelona Contract Only On One Condition

Barcelona goalkeeper, Marc Andre Ter Stegen will terminate his contract at the club only if his full €42 million salary is paid.

The German was totally unprepared by Barca’s choice to take a different approach in goal.

The Blaugrana believe that a much-needed goalkeeping overhaul has begun with the arrival of Joan Garcia.

Ter Stegen’s contract expires in June 2028, so getting rid of him is proving to be extremely difficult on both a financial and emotional level.

According to sources, Ter Stegen will be told directly by sporting director Deco that although he is free to stay, the club no longer view him as a part of its long-term goals.

Ter Stegen is caught off guard by the club’s abrupt shift in position. After the season concluded, no one had told him that he was no longer involved in the project.

According to Barca Universal, the shot-stopper is now refusing to back down, seeking either a clear path to stay and battle for his spot or the full compensation of his remaining contract.

At first, Barca considered selling Ter Stegen for a nominal transfer fee, but that option has now been slammed shut.

The most likely location that could have accepted his salary is Saudi Arabia, but the German has no interest in moving there.

Ter Stegen’s camp is unwavering despite the club’s current consideration of a partial buyout, maybe equivalent to one year’s worth of wages.

They contend that since the club is solely responsible for the current state of affairs, the entire €42 million must be paid in order to make amends.
