Paul Doyle, a 53-year-old former Royal Marine from West Derby, Liverpool, has been charged with multiple offences following a tragic incident during Liverpool FC’s Premier League victory parade on May 26, 2025.

Doyle is accused of driving a grey Ford Galaxy into crowds on Water Street, injuring 79 people, including four children.
Of those injured, 50 required hospital treatment, with seven remaining hospitalized in stable condition.
The charges against Doyle include two counts of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, and one count of dangerous driving.
He is scheduled to appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Eyewitnesses reported that Doyle’s vehicle followed an ambulance through a roadblock before accelerating into the crowd.
Authorities have confirmed that the act was not terror-related and that Doyle acted alone.
The investigation is ongoing, with police reviewing extensive CCTV and mobile phone footage, reports Independent.
The incident has cast a shadow over what was meant to be a day of celebration for Liverpool FC fans.
Liverpool FC stated it is in contact with authorities and extended thoughts and prayers to those affected.
