Suarez Spits On Coach During Inter Miami’s Leagues Cup Final Loss

Inter Miami’s loss to the Seattle Sounders in the Leagues Cup final on Sunday was a terrible experience for a number of their players, including Luis Suarez.

Moreso, the Uruguayan striker’s actions at Lumen Field did not cover him with glory.

After the full time whistle, Suarez, who has been embroiled in a number of scandals throughout his career, got into a fight with a member of Seattle’s coaching staff.

Former Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets played a significant role in the on-field brawl that broke out between the two MLS clubs after a very close game. Although it was a different situation, Suarez’s was far more stunning.

Another member of the former Barcelona contingent in Florida, Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano, was questioned on the full-time incidents in Washington, including Suarez’s spitting episode. He acknowledged that he had not seen much.

“Nobody likes that at the end of the game there are these types of actions. When there is a reaction, there may be a provocation, but I don’t know what happened.”

Even though Suarez was reportedly not cited at the time, it is likely that CONCACAF will now look into the incident. Even if the referee’s report doesn’t mention much, something will undoubtedly be done because TV cameras saw the 38-year-old spitting at the Seattle coach.
