Inter Miami forward, Luis Suárez, a striker has been suspended for six games for spitting at a Seattle Sounders coach following his side’s crushing 3-0 loss in the Leagues Cup final two weeks ago.
However, the ban was only applicable to subsequent tournaments, thus Major League Soccer (MLS) has now taken action and banned the Uruguayan player for an additional three games, according to Inside World Football.
With Sergio Busquets and Tomás Avilés fighting at the last whistle, the night ended in shame for some of Miami’s biggest stars. Before spitting directly at a member of the opposing staff, Suárez needed to be stopped by teammates and coaches.
The Leagues Cup Organising Committee fined all three of them as well as Seattle’s Steven Lenhart.

Those who have followed Suárez’s brilliant but imperfect career are accustomed to seeing him lose his mind. We all recall the bans for Otman Bakkal, Branislav Ivanović, and Giorgio Chiellini’s bites.
Another for abusing Patrice Evra on the basis of race. You get a picture of a player who, despite his football brilliance, dances on the brink of anarchy when you include his infamous World Cup handball against Ghana.
Suarez Apologizes On Spitting Incident
Suárez has since tried to pour water on the flames, issuing a public apology on social media.
“It was a moment of much tension and frustration, where just after the game ended things happened that shouldn’t have happened, but that doesn’t justify my reaction,” he admitted.
“I made a mistake and sincerely apologise. It’s not the image I want to give in front of my family, that suffers because of my mistakes, in front of my club, that also doesn’t deserve seeing themselves affected by something like this.”
