Mohamed Salah’s impending return has reportedly delighted Arne Slot, who disclosed discussions with the Liverpool forward on his possible availability for next week’s Champions League match at Marseille.
Salah’s dreams of winning the Africa Cup of Nations were dashed on Wednesday as Senegal defeated Egypt in the semi-finals, with Sadio Mane, a former Reds teammate, scoring the lone goal.
Salah is anticipated to return to England shortly after Egypt’s campaign concludes on Saturday with a third-place play-off matchup against Nigeria.
It’s also possible that the 33-year-old, who hasn’t played for Liverpool in almost a month, may play right away on Wednesday’s trip to Marseille.

“First of all, he needs to play another big game for Egypt on Saturday and then he comes back to us,” said Slot as quoted by Liverpool Echo.
“We are in talks with him about what is expected of him over there, what is expected over here. But first of all he needs to have an important game on Saturday and next week he will be back.
“Marseille? That is something we are talking about together now.”
